Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a multi-award winning stadium setting the global benchmark for stadium design providing an exceptional spectator experience. The stadium is the first purpose-built home for the NFL outside of the USA and features a fully retractable natural turf playing surface used for English Premier League football games. When retracted there is the NFL playing field which is also used when concerts are hosted in the stadium.

CHALLENGE. “Tottenham Hotspur Football Club challenged Populous to create a world-class sports and entertainment destination that would deliver an unrivaled fan experience and significant community benefits, while also providing the perfect environment for hosting American football games.” Populous

The unobtrusive routing of HydroMax® Siphonic Drainage pipework contributed to creation of space within the concourse levels. The stadium has a capacity of 62,850 with stands having the steepest permissible slopes offering spectators a close up view of the playing field. The South Stand is the world’s largest single tier stand with a capacity of 17,500.

Also hosting other sporting events such as boxing and rugby, the stadium has been constructed to easily transform into a concert venue hosting superstars like Lady Gaga and Guns N Roses.

From a hospitality standpoint, the stadium offers anything from entry-level street food right up to six-course ultra-fine dining, including 8,500 premium hospitality seats. The stadium hosts a microbrewery, several pub type bar outlets and a 65-metre long bar — the longest in Europe — stretching the full length of the goal line on the pitch.
